A simple idea over a pint…

LetsRunDen began the way the best things often do, with a simple idea shared over a pint. It started as a casual chat between three brothers, about getting out for a run together. When we said, “Well, let’s go run then,” it stuck. Somewhere between laughter and that moment of motivation, “then” became “Den,” a nod to our surname, and LetsRunDen was born.

What started as a few local runs quickly grew into something much bigger: a movement that has brought people together through running, conversation, and community. Our little group of three became a thriving social running club, with hundreds joining in, thousands following online, and friendships forming every week. We have seen firsthand how powerful movement and connection can be for both the body and the mind.

Our journey gained real momentum. I took on the Seascale to Whitby Coast-to-Coast challenge, raising over £7,000 for 4 charities.

These charities tell my family’s story. The British Heart Foundation, for my Dad (Phil), who we lost suddenly to heart disease. The Neuroendocrine Cancer Trust, for my mum (Pauline), who fought bravely before we lost her to the illness. Birmingham Children’s Hospital, where I shared one of my earliest and happiest memories, gifting toys with my mum at Christmas. And Mind, who have helped me face the battles that followed, the grief, the trauma, and the long road back to peace.

Then came ‘10 with Den’ early this year, my New Year’s resolution to run 10 miles every day. Each run became more than exercise; it became therapy, reflection, and purpose.

“Next year, I will be taking on my biggest challenge yet, running the entire length of the UK from John O’Groats to Land’s End in 16.5 days as part of the #PainIntoPowerChallenge…”
